Ahead of what is sure to be an enthralling 25/26 campaign across Tier 4, we have highlighted 4 players who we think you should keep an eye on. Read on to find out all about them, and why we think they are going to tear apart the FAWNL this season.

Division 1 Midlands

Anna Pitt - Peterborough United Women

Having just signed for Peterborough United Women this season, the addition of the American defender is doubtless a statement of intent from a strong Peterborough side. Having finished in third place last season, The Posh will surely be eyeing up a promotion spot this season. With the addition of solid defender Anna Pitt, there is no reason why they can’t push for Tier 3.

Currently a student athlete at BUCS National Championship finalists the University of Nottingham, Pitt will now have the chance to link up with her university coach Jake Poole at the Posh. A strong central defender, Pitt will bring not only strength and resilience but also a wealth of experience to this Peterborough side.

The 23 year old previously played 4 years of collegiate football at Division One side UC Santa Barbara and will be looking to bring this experience to her first season playing in the FAWNL. Having previously trained with the Posh at the end of season, she has already had a chance to gel with the squad, and push ahead to this season.

Division 1 North

Imogen Porteous-Williams - Cheadle Town Stingers Women

After just missing out on promotion on the final day of the season, Cheadle Town Stingers will be back with a bang this campaign. One player who we think will really boost their chances of securing promotion this season is their prolific forward Imogen Porteous-Williams.

Last season, Porteous-Williams excelled in the front line, securing a total of 16 goals across 28 appearances. Not only does she score goals, Porteous-Williams has the ability to completely dominate and change games - something that her 4 opposition player of the match awards clearly attests to.

Already in preseason, the rapid forward has looked impressive playing a major role in her side’s 3-0 victory in a friendly against Bury FC Women. As Cheadle Town look ahead to their second season in the Division One North, Porteous-Williams could really prove to be the difference as they look to chase promotion to Tier 3.

Division One South East

Millie Isherwood - London Bees

Last season, London Bees’ 4th placed finish was made possible partly through the incredible goal scoring form of their forward Millie Isherwood. At such a young age, she terrorised defences across the league and finished the season with 18 goals across 24 appearances.

Despite her youth, Isherwood has already proven that she can make a difference in the big moments. Her incredible performance which saw her bag 4 goals and be awarded player of the round against Queens Park Rangers Women in the Adobe FA Women’s Cup Third Round Proper demonstrates how she has the ability to change games.

Having previously won the FA Girl’s Youth Cup during her academy stint at Chelsea, Isherwood and her side will be chasing silverware and an improvement on last season’s finish in the Division One South East. In a league that is full of harsh competition, her bright spark and prolific nature could make all the difference.

Division One South West

Caitlin Crierie - Abingdon United Women

Few teenage keepers show the maturity and composure that Caitlin Crierie demonstrated across her debut season with Abingdon United Women. A key part of their defence which ensured their Tier 4 status, her safe hands and quick reactions between the sticks will be crucial ahead of the 25/26 season.

Before joining Abingdon United, Crierie impressed at Oxford United Women’s Development side where she was awarded the Golden Glove in the South East and Central Reserve Division during the 23/24 campaign. Upon joining Abingdon, the teenager instantly made her mark and became the side’s highest appearance maker of the season with a total of 27 appearances. Receiving both the player’s player and the young player of the seasons award further highlights the potential that she possesses.

Despite interest from other clubs, Abingdon’s number 1 chose to commit to the club for the 25/26 campaign and she will definitely be a young talent to keep an eye on across the season.
