After a stunning 25/26 campaign AFC Fylde are back in the FAWNL with a point to prove! Read on to find out all about the club as they look to take revenge for their previous relegation.

AFC Fylde’s league campaign was a highly successful one with the side going invincible and winning an incredible 19 out of 20 league games. This hugely impressive feat saw them finish the season 14 points higher than their nearest rivals and their fans in no doubt about whether they would secure the league title. Their home record was even more scintillating with the side winning every league game, scoring 36 goals and only conceding one. Their excellent goal difference, which sits on 72, 26 goals higher than second place, is a true testament to their attacking power but also their defensive solidness.

In the crucial games AFC Fylde stepped up this season and their impressive form saw them not only secure the league title but also go on an impressive Adobe Women’s FA Cup run. Furthermore, their cup journey saw them reach the 3rd round proper following some big scorelines including their huge 4-0 victory over Tier 4 side Kidderminster Harriers Women. They were unfortunately bettered by Tier 3 side Middlesbrough Women in their 3rd round tie but this cup run will undoubtedly give them the confidence that they can compete against some of the very best.

Alongside these achievements, they also completed the double by securing the County Cup trophy following an incredible final performance which saw them beat out Tier 4 side Wythenshawe women 4-2. Lois Moore’s thunderous strike will stick in the memory of many with that finish securing her the goal of the season award.

Much of their incredible success can be put down to the endless work from their players such as hugely gifted midfielder Orlaith O’Mahony. A former Republic of Ireland youth international, the hardworking midfielder has picked up 4 opposition player of the match awards this season and has been a crucial part of their success as demonstrated by her also winning supporter’s and player’s player of the year.

Another key player in their success has been huge goal scorer Lois Moore who managed a huge tally of 27 goals across just 26 games. Picking up the golden boot for her huge tally, Moore will be looking to carry this stellar form into Tier 3.

As the 26/27 campaign edges ever closer AFC Fylde look to be back better than ever and are definitely not a team who should be underestimated.
