You might expect a club with the stature of Fulham to already be competing in the Championship, or at least within the National League. Yet, only now have Fulham Women secured their long-awaited promotion to Tier 4. After a remarkable unbeaten campaign, they were crowned champions of the London and South East Regional Women’s League, earning a well-deserved place in the FA Women’s National League, Division One South East.

As Fulham kick their season off in a Friendly against 2023/24 title challengers Moneyfields on Sunday 3 August, let’s take a look at their 2024-25 campaign and ponder on what we can expect to see from them this coming campaign.

Standout Players and Big Signings

Fulham’s prolificity in front of goal has been nothing short of exceptional. At least six of their players both scored 10+ goals and numbered a minimum of 10+ assists across the league season.

Their top scorer was number nine, Ellie Olds, who bagged an incredible 19 goals while also helping herself to 12 assists. She was closely followed by three players each who netted 17: Stella Gandee Morgan, Georgia Heasman and Madison Parsonson. It was indeed Morgan who stole the show as Fulham were officially crowned league champions, helping herself to a hat-trick in their 6-0 win over Sporting London Benfica to seal the deal.

Both Morgan and Heasman totalled 29 goal involvements across the course of the season, the most across their fellow Fulham teammates.

Such attacking prowess will undoubtedly be a threat to their opponents as they look to challenge for a second successive promotion in the National League.

The signing of midfielder Molly Holder from Stoke City will certainly strengthen an already robust Cottagers side. Her ability to read the game and win the ball in the air, alongside her experience from a Tier 3 side, will be nothing but of great value to a Fulham side that will threaten any side they face.

Another big signing bringing a wealth of experience with her , is 29-year-old Taomë Oliver from Oxford United. Able to play as a full back or midfielder, Oliver’s versatility will be crucial to ensure this Fulham side have the required squad depth in a league that will challenge like no other has before. Coming through the ranks at Birmingham City whilst also playing for England u19’s at the UEFA Women's Euros, she is undoubtedly one to keep an eye on.

League form

After a few seasons of hinting at promotion, the Cottagers ran riot in the London and South East Regional Women’s League, finishing as the division’s champions by a margin of 10 points.

They began their campaign with a 6-0 win against Barking FC Women at Craven Cottage, then a 7-0 demolition of Millwall Lionesses and 9-1 thumping over Ashford United, setting the precedent from the beginning for what would become an incredible unbeaten league season.

Winning 20 out of a possible 22 games, drawing just two, Fulham were unstoppable across Tier 5. With an incredible goal difference of 87, lets hope the new challenge of Tier 4 will not stop their opponent’s net from constantly bulging.

The Cottagers are sure to be an exciting team to watch, heading into the new season on the back of a 12-game winning league run.

Cup run

Fulham FC Women enjoyed a mixed cup campaign during the season. Their FA Cup journey ended in the fourth round with a 5–0 defeat to London City Lionesses, after a hard-fought 2–1 win over Brentford in the third round. Earlier, they recorded their biggest win of the season in the first round, thrashing Epsom & Ewell 13–0.

The team also reached the final of the League Cup but were unfortunately forced to withdraw due to a breach of player eligibility rules.

Club as a Whole

Fulham FC Women maintain a strong affiliation with the men’s side, playing several matches at the iconic Craven Cottage — including the memorable day they were crowned Tier 5 champions. The club has significantly increased its support, granting the women’s team access to the Motspur Park training ground and a dedicated, full-size FIFA-approved astro turf pitch. Beyond the pitch, the team remains active in the local community, organising initiatives such as the recent “Women in Football” evening and consistently encouraging fan engagement.
