Welcome to Tier 4: Lye Town Women

After a hugely successful unbeaten 25/26 league campaign, Lye Town Women have booked their place in the Division One Midlands. Read on to find out the full story behind their incredible season.

2025/26 was a hugely successful campaign for Lye as they managed the incredible feat of remaining their entire league season unbeaten - something that appears even more impressive given the competitive nature of the league. Across 22 games Lye secured 17 victories and 5 draws meaning that they finished the season on 56 points - 5 points clear of their nearest rivals. What is also impressive is their goal scoring tally which saw this Lye side score a total of 66 goals averaging 3 goals a game!

In such a competitive league, consistency in key moments wins divisions and Lye demonstrated excellent calmness under pressure to beat second placed Shifnal Town Ladies 4-1 on February 1st. They also displayed an excellent performance against 3rd placed Redditch Borough women with a commanding 3-0 victory in December.

Much of their attacking prowess can be put down to the excellence of forward Natasha Baptiste who picked up their golden boot having scored 30 league goals across 22 games as well as 5 goals in the cup. Another key player is their goalkeeper Justine Lewis whose excellent shotshopping earned her an impressive total of 9 league clean sheets.

Looking ahead to the future, Lye clearly have big ambitions for their first season in Tier 4 as they have made some excellent summer signings. Behind the scenes, tricky forward Sunya Salim will be transitioning into a player/management role with her experience sure to be a huge boost for the side. They have also signed several players with significant national league experience including former Stourbridge Women players Meg Hadley and Darcy Cartwright. Another statement signing is former Worcester City Women and Division One Midlands player of the year Annie Highway - an incredibly technically gifted midfielder who really has the ability to change games.

As their first season in Tier 4 beckons Lye Town Women, teams would be foolish to underestimate this gritty side with an eye for goal!
